€256 €320

The Carlos Santos 9156 is a Field Boot inspired by the iconic Edward Green Galway exclusively for The Noble Shoe. It is Goodyear Welted on the 445 Last with a Dainite Rubber Sole. The uppers are bi-material, bi-color with a tasteful combination of calf and grain leather.

  • Style Reference: 9156
  • Maker: Carlos Santos
  • Model: Field Boot
  • Construction: Goodyear Welted
  • Sole: Dainite Rubber
  • Lining: Genuine Leather
  • Uppers: Dark Brown Grain/Dark Brown Calfskin
  • Last: 445

A New sleek last with a rounder shaped toe and regular width. Fits true to size and rather similar to the 401. Slightly elongated toe and advice is to size down 1.5 size from your regular US size, or half down from your normal Carmina Rain/Meermin Hiro/Crockett & Jones 348.

Example: A UK 8 in Carmina Rain or US 9D in Allen Edmonds should select UK 7.5 in this model and last.

Know Your Lasts
Last 445

Last 445: Last 445 is a medium round last with a very slight almond shape. It is perfectly balanced and has a generous instep, width and space in the toe box. It works very well in both dress shoes and making casual shoes appear smarter.

How Do I Find My Sizing?

Finding your sizing in a new brand can be tricky, however we are experts in this field due to our extensive knowledge of most brands.

To find your size, you would need to use (or provide us with) your average dress shoe size.

The next step would be to look at the description and sizing advice of the shoes you are looking at. Many of our shoes have generous sizing and require half a size down.

Each shoe has an individual sizing advice tab in its description, or you can even refer to our in-depth guide. We strongly recommend that you email us or use the live chat function for advice.

Measurements, Brannock Devices and Sneakers do not help. Sneakers are wildly inconsistent, while measurements and tracings are required for Bespoke and Made To Measure items.

What Is Your Return Policy?

The Noble Shoe has a very flexible 14 Days Return Period for items in stock.

Very often, we travel or something happens with our lives and we forget. As long as it is within reason, we will not refuse a return due to the time.

To return a pair of shoes, they need to be in excellent condition without signs of wear and creasing and with all the original accessories and packaging. We strive to provide high end quality items and care for the experience that the next person will have.

For verification, we will ask you for 1-2 pictures to showcase the condition of the uppers and the sole and then we can proceed with your return.

For returns or exchanges, we charge a one time fee equal to the shipping label cost which is usually around $40 USD.

Custom Made Items (Single MTO, Patina Service, Group Made To Order) from Carlos Santos, Enzo Bonafe, Paolo Scafora, Crockett & Jones and items on clearance are final sale and cannot be returned or refunded.

All shoes are quality controlled before shipping, but if something happens or you notice a defect, we consider it our duty to help you and resolve the issues.

Are You Really A Shoemaker?

The Noble Shoe is not about sales, but passion.

When I started this brand, I loved shoes and my dream was to become a Bespoke Shoemaker.

I studied Bespoke Shoemaking at one of the best schools in the world: Stefano Bemer Bespoke in Florence (Italy).

A fully handmade shoe can take anywhere between 60-100 hours to produce, with the true definition of handmade and tradition.

Understanding what goes into a shoe and why is a key element to reply to all your technical questions.

There are very few remaining online stores that have the competence and knowledge that The Noble Shoe has.

Carlos Santos Field Boots

Purchased the Carlos Santos Field boots in brown. Reached out to Kostas for sizing and he promptly responded. Boots arrived extremely fast given it was an overseas transaction and they did not disappoint. Very well made and look even better in person. Fit was on point, too! Overall great customer service… and would definitely purchase from The Noble Shoe (Kostas), again!

Great Boots, Service and experience!

I got a pair of the 9156 Carlos Santos Field boots. Having never purchased a pair of Carlos Santos boots I was pretty hesitant on the sizing so I messaged Kostas. Kostas is extremely friendly and nailed the sizing! He’s also clearly passionate about the shoes he sells and it shows. I’ve purchased boots from all the goodyear welted makers and this is by far the best experience I’ve had with a purchase- any brand would be lucky to have The Noble Shoe stock their brand. I’m very happy with my purchase, next for me is to convince Kostas (and maybe you reading this review!) to jump in on a black variation of the 9156 with a black grain upper and black calf lower. :)

An Elegant Workhorse

While searching for my first GYW pair of boots I came across, rather circuitously through sundry blogs, reviews, editorials, advertorials, laudatory posts, declaimed critiques, Kostas' review of a pair of reddish Meermin Jumpers, whose two tone variant I had nearly settled on as a decent enough starting point to purchase. The review had confirmed some of my suspicions about the Jumpers but more fortuitously led to the review of the Carlos Santos Field Boot in suede/calf, which seemed superior in every regard to the Meermin counterpart without asking for substantially more in price. Well they were sold out in my size. After much casual back and forth and a 30 minute conversation later with the famously patient and kind Mensch himself; Kostas, I was convinced to buy the alternate offering in dark brown grain/calf which I thought quite a bit less handsome than its lighter colored cousin. Yet all it took to assuage my doubts was a gentle matter-of-fact spur from Kostas; "you will love them." Irrational surely, but everything up to this point suggested this was no mere business venture but a man's passion project, in whose reviews I could sense authentic enthusiasm and care for quality. This trust was not misplaced. These boots are simply magnificent in person, and to such a degree that I was not simply OK with them but preferred them to my original persuasion. And this is true even months later, they still look impeccable, not an errant stitch to be found. While somewhat stiff and cramped initially they bloomed into my weekly workhorse, with the comfort of Chromexcel but without the creases. Surprisingly this aniline calf leather, generally prized for its elegant aesthetic, has held up extremely well in the turbulent extremes of the American Northeast. I have trudged through snow, marched through rain, beat these field boots into city streets and they have held up wonderfully. As durable as they are sleek and elegant, for any fan of the Galway lacking the liquidity of the wealthy I cannot recommend these beauties highly enough.

Beautiful Boots

Awesome boots and service! Having come from a workwear aesthetic with Red Wing , this is my first foray into Eurpoean style dress boots, The finishing on these is superb and they fit like they were made for me. I highly recommend these. If you're unsure on sizing or have questions then you can ask Kostas as he is very nice and responsive.
